“Be still, and know that I am God...” – Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
Saturdays often fill our time with errands, cleaning, and planning. What if you used today to prepare your spirit, not just your schedule?
Let today be more than a break from work. Let it be a day to reconnect with the One who gives you rest.
3 Ways to Prepare Your Heart for Sunday:
1. Reflect on the Week
Take a moment to reflect. Ask yourself these questions:
Where did I see God show up this week?
What challenged my faith?
Where do I need to ask for grace or give it?
Lamentations 3:22–23
“It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed… They are new every morning.”
Reflection helps to center your thoughts. Try writing down your responses. This practice helps you see God's footprints in your life.
2. Pray for Your Pastor & Church
Worship isn't just about receiving; it’s about creating an atmosphere of preparation. Devote time to lift up:
Your pastor's upcoming message
The worship team
Fellow believers who may be carrying heavy burdens.
Ephesians 6:18
“Praying always… for all saints”
Asking God to bless your church community enhances both your spirit and theirs.
3. Spend 15 Minutes in the Word or a Devotional
Even a brief reading can help you re-center your soul. Consider starting with:
Psalm 100
Romans 8:28
John 15:4
Faith Check-In
Journal Prompt:
“God, here’s what I’m bringing into tomorrow. Help me let go of ____, and show me how to show up in Your presence.”
Writing down your thoughts to God will clarify your heart. It's a form of prayer that intertwines reflection and communication.
Worship Songs to Reflect With:
“Believe For It” – CeCe Winans
“I Give Myself Away” – William McDowell
Songs can resonate deeply. Reflecting on their lyrics enhances your time of worship.
