Stillness Before the Step

Scripture: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” — Exodus 14:14 (NIV)
There are moments when God’s greatest work in our lives happens not through motion, but through stillness. In our human nature, we equate movement with progress — more ministry, more activity, more visible fruit. But the Spirit whispers something different: “Be still, and know that I am God.”
When Moses stood before the Red Sea, he had the people’s fear behind him and the impossible in front of him. Yet God didn’t ask him to run or strive. God said, “Stand still.” It was in that stillness that the miracle came.
You may be in a similar season now — not stepping down, but stepping back so that God can refill, refocus, and realign you. This pause isn’t punishment; it’s preparation. The same God who called you to ministry is now calling you to rest in Him — to let His Word soak deeper than before, to let His peace replace pressure, and to rediscover the joy of simple obedience.
Let this season be where your strength is renewed, your vision clarified, and your heart reminded that the work belongs to Him. You’re not losing ground — you’re gaining grounding.
