Title: The Foundation of Faith
Scripture: Romans 3:28 (KJV) – "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law."
Faith is the bedrock of the Christian life. From the beginning, God designed our relationship with Him to be built not on flawless performance but on unshakable trust in His character and promises. Paul boldly declares that we are made right with God not through good behavior or religious rituals, but through faith. This was a revolutionary idea in his time—and it still is.
Many believers wrestle with feeling like they must “earn” God's love or approval. But this scripture makes it clear: justification—being declared righteous—is a gift, not a reward. It's not something we work for, it’s something we receive. That doesn't mean we ignore good works; it means we don’t depend on them to save us. Our obedience flows from salvation, not for salvation.
When we internalize this, it liberates us from striving and guilt. We no longer need to keep score or compare ourselves to others. We are fully accepted in Christ because of what He did, not because of what we do. That’s the heart of the Gospel.
God’s Kingdom operates on grace. In His Kingdom, your standing is determined not by performance but by position—and your position is secure in Christ. This truth changes everything.
Application: Begin this week by thanking God for saving you by faith. Write down areas where you've tried to "earn" His approval. Release them in prayer and walk in the freedom of grace today.
